The DEMA Scuba Tour, a traveling "road show" for potential scuba divers, is poised for it's best year ever in 2003 - and there's still two months to go in 2002! According to Tour Director, Chris Fuller, thousands of participants tried scuba for the first time last year. A major reason for the success of the program was the mid-year partnership DEMA signed with Outside Magazine, Jeep and Clear Channel Communications.
"The opportunity we had to join the Jeep World Outside Festival proved to be an incredible success for everyone involved," Fuller points out. "While the original scuba tour was slated for just 15 venues, we were able to add 23 more venues as part of the Festival."
Due to the overwhelming success of the Jeep World Outside Festival, DEMA has already signed an agreement with Outside Magazine to participate once again this year. Retailers from across the country will be invited to participate, along with scuba equipment manufacturers and other DEMA Members.
"Everyone's invited and encouraged to get involved," Fuller said. "There isn't a more effective promotional vehicle available to DEMA than these exciting "Try Scuba" events. Our goal in 2003 is to reach more than 120,000 potential new divers with the message that they need to 'Get Wet and Get Diving.'"
